Sapphire: Part 12

Gym time. >:3

This one was pretty spaced out... there was a break of two or so weeks between the "We'll be fine" and the rest of the comic.

I've found that the music I listen to really affects the pacing and keeps me kinda 'in the zone' while working. One song that I listened to, as I did the last half, was this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDHSQK… -- a remix, techno-beatish, that's super up-beat, which I love.

Coloring is really an intimidating prospect for me! I've been working on doing more shading, at least, and trying to touch up the drawings a bit more. I tried more shadows in the WHAM panels, which turned out pretty lack-luster -- they're tough! Also not a fan of night scenes. Things to work on! :3

A comment from an artist that I read really stuck with me... I can't remember where I saw it... =m= ... but it was essentially that their strip, which had more simplistic figures, had simplified backgrounds, because otherwise that would drown out their figures/characters. I tried to keep that in mind as I went. Even little things, like the 2nd to last panel, with Leti's fingers -- the detail there I found distracting. But that's okay, that's what's fun about this -- it's great practice and I'm really excited to share the team's journey with anyone interested in reading it. :>
